Maytag Aircraft Corporation is a leader in providing contract Weather Forecasting and Weather Observation services to the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration and National Weather Service at locations across the United States.  The Weather Data Services Division of Maytag Aircraft has over fourteen years of experience providing contract weather services to the U.S. Government, complimenting the full range of aviation related services Maytag Aircraft provides to our many customers.

Weather Forecast and Observation Services for the Air Force include the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB), Massachusetts.  Maytag Aircraft employees at DoD locations must meet the strictest experience levels, including a minimum of 2 to 5 years weather forecast experience, specialized in aviation forecasting and one-year experience with Doppler weather radar.

At the United State Air Force Academy and Westover ARB, a full compliment of weather warnings, advisories, and watches are provided.  Weather forecasts, drop-zone forecasts, and mission planning products are also part of an intricate suite of products provided to local Commanders, integrated to support such evolutions as parachute jumps, tow-plane pilot training, and more advanced pilot courses and missions.  The observation contingent provides the Air Force Academy and Westover ARB with up to the minute observed weather data, observed advisories and observed warnings to ensure the safest environment for continued Cadet and Reservist training.  Maytag Aircraft is proud to be a team leader providing weather service to these future leaders of the Air Force at the Academy and to the Air Force Reserve Command.

Maytag Aircraft provides Weather Observation Services to the Federal Aviation Administration and National Weather Service, including manual and Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) augmentation observations.  These observations are used at high traffic, busy airports around the country to enhance flying safety.
